Far Cry 4. It had more outposts, it had a couple really big unique outposts, it had better weapons IMO, and had more variety in general. Far Cry 5 has less weapons (and even then several of the weapons are just variants of eachother, not even including the 'legendary' or whatever versions), less enemy variety, less outposts, and the annoying mechanic where you get 'captured' about every hour Better than 3 in every way, but similar. Some people don't like it because they played 3 first and it wasn't different enough for them. Maybe consider dropping 3 and buying 2 instead. 2 is a rather different experience. It's an older game, and suffers from some technological limitations of the time. Far Cry 3's missions ultimately made the greater impression: Far Cry 4's drug-destroying quest owes a clear debt to its predecessor's similar (and better) analog, and 3's hallucinogenic trips were Best. Far cry primal has the same map, but is a superior game. Far cry 5 is objectively better. Far cry 2 has better combat than far cry 4 as well. I can’t even remember far cry 4’s story beats lol. For me, I’d say Far Cry 3 (Classic Edition) beats AC 3 (Remastered) in terms of environment and story, but maybe not as much in terms of side missions. Far Cry 3’s Rook Islands look great but aren’t even close to feeling as alive as New York or Boston. White hero men, "traditional Far Cry 3 has the better environment in my opinion and 4 has the more refined gameplay. It's a very tough call but I'd probably say 3 if you could only choose one, it's got more wow factor (though that could be because I played it first). Far cry 3 is a blast too play. Its story is mediocre at best but it's a blast to blow things up in both standard and unique ways and by that I mean attaching an explosive barrel to a statue.
